AMERICAN ROSEWOOD SLANT FRONT DESK SIGNED THOMAS BROOKS CIRCA 1860. The cabriole legs supporting a slant lid desk having a beautiful interior of 4 inlaid drawers and a new leather writing surface. The 2 mirrored doors opening to reveal a wonderful flame birch interior. The whole supporting a mirrored and carved gallery H: 75 inches W: 37 inches D: 19 nehes. *Condition: Excellent- French polished (refinished at one time)

Rococo Rosewood Etagere by Brooks Cabinet Warehouse

Rare and important American rosewood Rococo Etagere, mid 19th century and attributed to T. Brooks Cabinet & Upholstery Warehouse, 127 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, New York, circa 1855. The etagere has a carved dome shell crest with 3 finials, a center and 2 side crests, mirror back with three candles shelves on each side. The bottom has a serpentine front with mirror and shelving on each side. The etagere was refinished at one time. Minor bubbling of veneer at some areas. The measurements are 102 inches tall x 66 inches wide. An identical etagere with a label sold in May 1990 in Beacon, New York.

Solid cast and gilded on all surfaces with urn flanked by two dolphins, original bevelled mirrors (silvering shows some deterioration) marked 'B&H', presumably Bradley & Hubbard of Meriden, Conn., (1852-1940), manufacturers of all manner of high quality brass accessories, these date from the last quarter of the 19th century. BRASS OPENWORK DRESSER SET TRAY FRAME BOX

Vintage dresser / vanity set, probably Eastern European in origin and dating to the 1940-60's. Consists of openwork gilded brass, glass and 'pearl' mirrored tray, picture frame and jewelry / trinket box. Measurements: tray 7 3/4inches long and 5 1/2inches wide. Frame 5 1/4inches high including decoration on top and 4 1/2inches wide including extra decoration. Box is 2 1/8inches high and 2 1/2inches diam excluding extentions for opening and hinges. Superb brass openwork on all 3 pieces. The mirror is surrounded by a curving gallery of swags of flowers and leaves. ON either side are handles in the form of ornate bows. the frame is ornately engraved and chased. Around the top is has a complex arrangement of flowers, each inset with an artificial pearl, one of which is damaged (upon close inspection). The frame has a velvet backing and can stand alone. The little box has a bevelled glass lid and stands on 3 bun feet. It has magnificent floral and scrolling openwork on the sides and an elaborate gilded thumb piece. Even the little clasps that hold down the glass are very pretty. Condition of all three pieces is excellent with the exception of the one damaged pearl.

ANTIQUE ORMOLU GLASS VANITY STAND CANDLESTICK

Antique French vanity or dressing stand - opalescent art glass jewelry or trinket dish in a gilt bronze ormolu mount with candlesticks on either side. Made circa 1890 with strong Art Nouveau insect amidst foliage theme. Diameter of bowl is almost 5 inches. Total height is 8inches.Opalescent glass bowl - Great quality French Art Glass. Glass like Sabino / Lalique, but much earlier. Bowl covered in moulded cherries and vineleaves, covered in spiderweb-like branching veins. Stands on 3 tripod legs. Bowl is mounted in gilt metal with an oval mirror in a marvellously scrolling gilt design with attached vine leaves, candle holders, twisted ropes and a dragonfly on the top. The fine detail is incredible: from the minute engraved and moulded details of the leaves, to the pierced openwork gauze of the dragonfly wings. Very delicate, ornate, Nouveau design. Condition is very good.
