She is wearing her plumed hat while he is holding his with his left hand. Both figures have great detail & color, even on the back. They measure 9" tall. The Queen figure says "Queen," but the other figure isn't marked. Circa 1850

This is an English mid-19th century Staffordshire figure of Col. Peard on horseback. There's nice detail to the figure, including his face & the colors. The name Col. Peard is near the bottom front. The figure is in excellent condition except for a faint, tight hairline near the bottom of the back. It didn't show in a picture. The figure measures 12 3/4" high. Circa 1850

Staffordshire Blue/White Transfer Bowls c1895

DESCRIPTION: These two matching Staffordshire rim soup bowls are made by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. of Cauldon, Staffordshire. They date from about 1895 and are vivid in their design, which is called "Byzantium". It features a scene with trees, tents, figures and buildings with a pretty twisted rope and floral border (please ignore the glare from the camera flash). The blue is a nice dark shade and the transfer is very crisp overall. CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks or crazing. Appropriate very minor rubbing to rim edge. RESTORATION: None. SIZE: 10" diameter x 1-1/8" deep. US SHIPPING/HANDLING: At a 2lb rate, insurance optional.

Staffordshire Figure of Boy & Girl on a Horse

This is an English mid-19th century Staffordshire figure of a boy and girl on a horse. The boy is holding a basket, and at the base it says "Going to Market" in gold letters. There are a few gold stems at the bottom and some gold on the hats and necklines, and a little bocage green in two spots on the base. The figure is in excellent condition, and is snowy white except for nice flesh tones on the hands and the well detailed faces. The figure measures 8 3/4" high x 7" wide x 2" deep. Circa 1850

GREEN GLAZED STAFFORDSHIRE CRADLE 1790

This green glazed pearlware cradle was made in Staffordshire around 1790 to be used as a container for either a wedding or baby gift. It is 4" long, 2" wide and 2-1/2" high. The molded pattern looks like a hooded wicker cradle. The cradle is being sold "as is" as there are cracks and chips. Amazingly, appearance is very good. PINK LUSTRE PEARWARE NAMED & DATED JUG 1816

Named and dated jugs are some of my favorite pieces of china. This 7" pearlware jug is hand painted in pink lustre against a creamy ground with charming cottage scenes. Under the spout, there is a heart which contains the name, place(Leek is a town in Staffordshire) and date of a child born in the early 19th century. What a lovely gift for a newborn child! Other than a repair (see photos for details) to the beautifully molded spout, condition is excellent with no other chips, cracks or restoration. This is a rare item to add to a collection of jugs, lustreware, or early English ceramics. The jug was made in Staffordshire in the early 19th century.

EARLY STAFFORDSHIRE:
ANTIQUE BROWN TRANSFERWARE 3 PIECE SET

Antique Brown Staffordshire Transferware Three Piece Set Including A Coffee Pot, Sugar And Creamer A Lovely Pattern Featuring A Mother And Children Scene Also Including Several Urns All With A Geometric Border On An 8 Sided Blank. There is no backstamp - any information about the maker or the pattern name would be appreciated.The coffee pot stands about 9 1/4 inches tall including the lid. This pot has some crazing and this crazing is especially discolored on the spout. There are no hairlines or significant chips that I can identify. There is some wear roughness at the tip of the spout. and some minor chipping around the top inside rim. The sugar stands 8 1/4 inches high . It has some discolored crazing especially in the bottom section and on the interior. The top inside rim is discolored as is the inner rim of the lid. The lid has a chip at one of the corners. The creamer stands 5 3/8 inches high and has no major flaws.The pictures tell the condition story the best. GAUDY WELSH:
MINIATURE GAUDY WELSH SPILL VASE 1840-1860

This miniature Gaudy Welsh spill vase is 3-1/4" high and 2-1/2" at the top ( its widest point). The pattern is Asian which decorates both the outside and the inner lip of the vase ( a building block design). The vase is blue underglaze as well as orange, pink lustre and copper lustre. Condition is excellent. It was probably made in either Staffordshire or Wales between 1840 and 1860.

Village Wedding Child's Plate

This unusual early 19th century Staffordshire child's plate is entitled " The Village Wedding". The rhyme is "Hark how the Bells are ringing, the fiddler plays right Well. The Johns and Molls,are singing, and all goes off right well." The border of this 7-1/2" plate has molded animals and flowers and except for a 1/2" hairline at 3 o'clock the condition is excellent. This plate would make a wonderful wedding gift!

Found on a 7 inch child's plate, this pattern was intended to be used as a teaching tool; "E begins Elephant, Eagle, and Eggs." I often wonder if any child had the entire set from A to Z! Condition of the plate is excellent, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It was probably made in Staffordshire around 1840-1850.

CHILD'S MUG WITH CAT C 1835

Found on a 3 inch high mug, the patterns on both sides are charming pictures of a little girl and a cat. The black print with the teal background is very unusual. Condition is excellent. The mug was made by Thomas Godwin in Staffordshire around 1840. If you like cats, this is the item for you!

LUSTREWARE:
CHINOISERIE PINK LUSTRE JUG C 1830

This large 8" pearlware jug is unusual as it has a chinoiserie pattern printed in black and painted over in blue, green, orange and pink lustre. There is also a wonderful stylized flower painted in pink lustre under the spout. The pattern is the same on both sides. There is a large crack that meanders under the spout from one side to the other that has been stabilized. There are also cracks on the bottom that do not go through to the inside. This sounds terrible but appearance is excellent. The jug was made in Staffordshire somewhere between 1820 and 1830.

Found on a twelve-sided pearlware 5.5 inch plate, this pattern features a bird that may be a wren. I'd love some help with identification! The black transfer is clobbered with pink, green, yellow and orange enamel paint. Except for some extremely small nicks in the border, condition is excellent. The plate was probably made in Staffordshire around 1830.

BLUE ROSE DOUBLE PRINT CHILD'S PLATE 1830

A 6-1/2" pearlware child's plate beautifully printed in soft medium to dark blue. The double printed pattern is one of cabbage roses just about to fully open. Detail is excellent. The raised border of leaves and flowers is enamelled in orange and green with pink lustre on the rim. Other than a glaze pop that has discolored, a chip on the foot rim and stilt marks, condition is excellent. The plate was probably made in Staffordshire around 1830. It is unusual and the colors and design are outstanding.

PRATT POT LID & BASE CHARITY CIRCA 1880

Printed in many shades of blue, green brown and red, this pot lid is entitled "Charity". It is 5" in diameter. There is a repair to one edge of the lid as well as some small nicks also on the edge. Appearance is excellent. The base appears to be the one that came with the lid. The pot lid was probably made in Staffordshire around 1860-1880.

Found on a 7.25 inch plate, this pattern, "Red Riding Hood Meets The Wolf" is part of a series of plates that depicts the nursery tale. The plate was made at the Brownhills Pottery in Staffordshire between 1891 and 1896. There is a fill to a chip on the back and one on the front. Both are shown in the additional photos. Take a look at all of the photos for the details. Appearance is very good and the pattern is charming!

GAUDY WELSH ANGEL'S TRUMPET PATTERN C/S 1860

This is yet another lovely Gaudy Welsh pattern. The delicate flowers seem to swirl around the saucer and cup in shades of orange, green, and lustre over underglaze blue. The pattern number on the back appears to be 64. The condition of this circa 1840-1860 cup and saucer is excellent. They were probably made in either Wales or Staffordshire.

This is a lovely Gaudy Welsh pattern that seems to have no name. If you know it, please tell me. The pattern is delicately painted in pinks, orange, green and lustre over a blue underglaze. Other than glaze wear to some of the lustre on the rim, condition of this 8-1/4" plate is very good. The plate was probably made in either Staffordshire or Wales between 1840 and 1860.

This 7-3/4" cake or biscuit plate is in the popular Sunflower Gaudy Welsh pattern. The colors are orange, green and shades of pink and copper lustre over blue underglaze. Other than minor green loss in the "grass" area, condition is very good. The plate was probably made in either Staffordshire or Wales between 1840 and 1860.
