Salesman's Sample Table w/ Five Leaves
Rare round walnut Victorian salesman's sample dining tablewith five original leaves and center leg. The skirt has a molding aroundthe bottom of the skirt. The split pedestal base has lovely shaped andcarved legs ending in original brass mini castors. There are chestnut tableslides, as you would expect in the full size table along with a turnedcenter leg. The five original leaves even come in their own leaf rackcomplete with numbers. Small pieces of Victorian furniture were oftenmade by very skilled grandpa's for their offspring. This piece however, is atrue salesman's sample - factory made to scale. Very rare and adorable walnut round Victorian salesman'ssample dining room table with three original leaves. The skirt is burled.The split pedestal base is decorated with shaped burled panels, appliedcarved rosettes and acorn shaped finials. The table opens to accommodatethe three leaves. Notice there are even original mini castors on thefeet. It even has the original brass hooks that hold the two sides of thebase and top together (see photo of underside of table). There are a fewsmall nicks in the wood consistent with the age. Small pieces of Victorianfurniture were often made by very skilled grandpa's for their offspring.This piece however, is a true salesman's sample - factory made to scale. EDWARDIAN INLAID WOOD MARQUETRY SERVING TRAY
Very large Edwardian inlaid wood marquetry serving tray. Made in England first decade of the 20th century. Total width is 26 3/4 inches, including the handles. Distance accross is about 14 inches. Kidney shaped tray with brass handles on either end. Main wood is believed to be mahogany and the inlays are a variety of coloured fruit woods. A string of cream-coloured wood is inlaid about 1 inch from the rail/guard. Inlay consists of scrolling botanical subjects showing strong Art Nouveau and Aesthetic movement influence. Underneath the tray has old velt to protect table surfaces. Surface has wonderful patina and is extremely pleasing aesthetically. Condition is very good with some minor negligible wood splitting on the rail due to age and natural wood shrinkage.

Ornately carved wood and brass carving set on stand for buffet / dining room. Made late 19th - early 20th century, India.Knife is 12 1/2 inches long. Nearly 17 inches from end to end of the set.Stands on brass legs. Trimmed and mounted in brass, some of which is somewhat worn.Handles and stand made of profusely carved wood. Wonderful intricate and finely detailed flowers and foliage in excellent condition. Looks fabulous on the table or buffet.Knife has large, very strong and sturdy blade, so this set is made for actual use. (knife looks as though it could be used to hunt the animal in the first place).
