HP ART DECO VASE ENGLAND 1930'S TUSCAN DECORO

Art Deco ceramic handpainted fan vase made in England, 1930'S by Tuscan Decoro Pottery. Measures a tad over 8 1/4 inches high. Round base in cream with painted red-brown concentric circles. The vase fans out on the sides in curving flutes, with a fantastic series of globes on either side. These orbs are graded in size with biggest on the top. The top of the vase is curved and rounded and forms different shapes, depending on the angle it is seen from. The surface is handpainted with wonderful flowers in pinks, orange, yellows, reds, browns on an unusual pale mint-green ground. The top rim is painted with an emerald-green and white stripe. A number of marks under the vase: incised D 331, believed to be the model number; D331/812 and a O in a brown handwritten mark just below an incised curve with a dot, which might be the potter's mark. Factory stamp in green ink: TUSCAN DECORO POTTERY and Made in England. Vase is in very good condition with no chips/cracks/damage of any sort. Crazing of the glaze is normal and acceptable for pottery of this age and can be seen clearly in the 'photos. Green veld was attached by a previous owner to protect tables/surfaces from scratching.

CERAMICS/ENGLISH:
ANTIQUE SET 12 GILDED, HANDPAINTED MINTONS FI

Set of 12 handpainted and gilded fish plates. Made by Mintons in England 1870s to 1890 and possibly later painted in the 20th century. Each plate is 9 1/2 inches in diameter. Each plate has a rich gold border. The simple round shape of the plate is hand painted with a unique decoration of a different fish per plate. The fish are painted much larger than most fish plate decorations and clearly represent a rich variety of real fish. Each fish is swimming amongst nets, bait and hooks, some have plants surrounding them, delicately painted so as not to detract from the gorgeous fish and the rich gold of the nets. The quality of the painting is excellent with great detail to scales, fins, eyes and wonderful colour and shape. Each plate has a number of marks under it:1. impressed MINTONS with a date cypher. Many have the circle with internal x of 1872, but a few include 1885, 1890. 2. Large handwritten R. Handwritten 1892. Handwritten signature/monogram. 3. Stamped in green letters: Made in England. The latter mark was normally used after 1924, which confuses the date issue. Any comments/ideas will be welcome. We believe the plates were made in the 19th century and the blanks painted during the 20th century. Plates are in very good condition with no chips/cracks/damage/restoration. A set of these plates on the table looks as though the ocean has come to dine.
