Stoneware:
Old Brown Glazed Embossed Diamond Stoneware Pitcher

Old Brown Glazed Stoneware Buttermilk or Batter Pitcher with Embossed Diamond pattern. Unmarked as the truly old USA pottery companies rarely marked their ware until the late 1930s. This pitcher measures 5'' tall, 4 1/4'' wide and 6 3/4'' long (handle to spout). There is one tiny glaze pop on one side. You can see a few manufacturing flaws that are glazed over. Those flaws give vintage American pottery their charm. Maker is unknown--could be Morton, RRP, McCoy or Western. This pitcher makes a wonderful country collectible.

Stoneware:
Antique Dark Brown Stoneware Barrel Mug

Antique Dark Brown Stoneware Barrel Shaped Mug with White Interior. It is unmarked as most early stoneware was. We believe it is one the McCoy Stoneware pieces from the 1920s. There are three stilt marks on the thickly glazed over bottom. Measures 4 3/4'' tall. There is a small patch on one side (not a glaze pop or chip) where the glaze separated during manufacturing. This old, heavyweight stoneware mug has no chips, cracks or crazing.

Large Vintage Stone Acid Pitcher

stoneware For sale is a large vintage 'stone acid pitcher'. Heavy duty OLD stoneware pitcher. This is likely an old McCoy or RRP Roseville, as both companies produced a lot of stoneware like this. It looks identical to the one in the RRP book, however, this one is not marked. See pg. 80 of the RRP book. Most early stoneware was not marked; the USA mark primarily started being used in the 1930's-40's, and thereafter, companies began using their logos. In any event this pitcher is in very good condition for its age which is early 20th C; look at that old bottom!. It is 10 high x 6.5 wide at top rim. A great piece of stoneware to add to your collection!

Stoneware ~ Jugs ~ and More: RARE Vintage YELLOWWARE Blended DRIP PIE CRUST BOWL
RARE Vintage YELLOWWARE Blended DRIP PIE

RARE Vintage YELLOWWARE Blended DRIP PIE CRUST BOWLThis is wonderful with the THREE little feet, a rare vintage yellowware stoneware blended drip that has the pie crust edge. It may be Brush McCoy but we are not experts. It has the incised 398 on the bottom. It is approximately 10 inches in diameter. Some minor utensil marks, NO chips or cracks. It is done in browns, beige/tan with what looks like a blue green and the middle color is almost purplish. It is about 3 inches tall. This came from a local Romeo estate.

Vintage USA Stoneware Jardiniere Flower Pot

Heavy vintage USA Stoneware Jardiniere Flower Pot with thickly embossed shell and scroll design in a salmon color glaze accented with blue top rim and white interior. Marked only with an incised number 8. The base has a raised rim, dry bottom with a tan colored clay visible. Unsure as to maker, but definitely vintage USA pottery and likely from the 1930s era. The white interior lining suggests UHL, but it could be Brush McCoy, Zanesville, Hull, Monmouth, Morton, Burley-Winter, etc. Measures 6 3/4'' tall and 8 5/8'' diameter and has thick side walls. Has a small slice off the bottom setting ring which does not affect stance or appearance, a couple of pin-point glaze pops and glaze skips from manufacturing. Overall very good condition on this vintage jard or flower pot.

Antique Stoneware Utility Crock

stoneware For sale is a vintage stoneware crock. c.1940's & earlier. This is the perfect size old stoneware crock to house some of your favorite kitchen gadgets, like rolling pins, spatulas, meat forks, eggbeaters, etc. Strong, heavy, old crock that is bristol glaze on the exterior and albany slip on the interior. All the great old American pottery companies made these crocks, including McCoy, Zanesville, RRP Roseville, Redwing, Hull, etc, so it could be any one of those, and most of the early ones are not marked. It stands 8 tall x 7.5 wide, and has no chips or cracks, and a very well worn bottom indicating a lot of age. (checkout Martha Stewart's kitchen; she has assorted sizes of these crocks).

Large Antique Preserves Crock

stoneware For sale is a large antique stoneware preserves crock. Antique preserves crock with the lid intact! Whew hoo, hardly ever find these with the lids still on them! It has a wire clamp that holds the lid in place, which is quite rusted by the way. This crock has on small chip near bottom, nothing really significant considering most of these old crocks do have chips and cracks. It is 11.5 tall x 6.25 wide across bottom rim. Awesome stoneware for your collection! (I was watching a movie last night about a double homicide back in the 1800's, and what did they show in the kitchen cupboard? You got it, one of these old crocks!) Also, in my book on Monmouth/Western Stoneware, it shows identical types of preserves-jam crocks like this. McCoy, RRP, UHL and Zanesville also made a lot of these crocks way back when.

Vintage Stoneware Insulators

stoneware For sale are two vintage stoneware insulators, (2 for one price!) These are two old heavy duty insulators. Don't ask me how they were used, I just know they are called insulators. I use similar ones as hurricane lamps at my summer outdoor parties because they are so heavy, won't all over, and fit a candle in them quite nicely! Both are marked under the glaze: one is marked with an R in a circle, (could be an old Roseville Pottery mark, as most of the old American companies made these types of things too); other is marked: PINCO 63. Each are a bit different in terms of size and glaze color, but are still nice to use together. You can even use them indoors on a table if you have any of the brown dishes put out by McCoy, RRP, Watt, Hull, etc., or as indoor hurricanes too! Also look good just sitting next to other vintage stoneware items.

Early Brushware Stoneware Flower Pot

Early Brushware Stoneware Flower Pot with unglazed tan interior and blue/green brushed color accents over embossed floral swags. Base is drilled for drainage and flowerpot would have originally had a saucer to match. This style of pottery was made in the late 1920s and 1930s by various American potteries such as Red Wing, Monmouth, Burley Winter, Brush-McCoy, Roseville and Weller. Unmarked except for an incised number 4. There is a small glaze pop on the interior and small glaze flake on the interior rim which is not very noticeable as it blends with the overall color of the clay. There is some paint rubbing on the top rim--maybe from use or from manufacture as the potteries were not always perfectionists regarding glazes applied. These were transitional pieces from early stoneware to the later decorative art ware. Early Brushware Flower Pots can be hard to find.
