Yellowware: Old Yellowware Rockingham Pottery Pig Bank Old Yellowware Pottery Pig Bank decorated with sponged Rockingham glaze. Lisa McAllister shows this style pig bank in her book of Yellow Ware (bv 175-275). They are also pictured in reference guides of Brush-McCoy and Roseville Pottery, etc., so several eastern Ohio potteries made them. This little guy is marked USA. He measures 5 1/2'' long and 2 7/8'' tall. There is some age related crazing present. One of the craze lines is a little darker on the top running from the slot--but it is crazing as there is no break in the glaze. There is old glue residue from felt on the bottoms of the feet and a dark spot on one foot also from the glue. We have not tried to clean it, but it should come off. This little yellowware pig no chips or cracks.

Yellowware: Green Glazed Yellowware Bowl Old Green Glazed Yellowware Bowl. The Ohio potteries (Robinson Ransbottom, Watt, Hull and McCoy) made the green-glazed yellowware bowls from the early 1900s-1930s. It is unmarked of course, since most USA pottery companies did not mark their pottery until the late 1930s--and some not at all. It is a glossy, drippy, green color with areas of the yellow clay visible. Measuring 7'' in diameter and 3'' tall, I would say it's in fabulous condition for a bowl approximately 80 years old. There is light, all-over crazing but no hairlines, chips or cracks. Stilt marks are visible on the inside of the bowl as well the base, and there are the usual random small excess clay deposits and pin point pops as a result of the manufacturing process. Green glazed yellowware is very collectible and this bowl will make a wonderful addition to a vintage bowl collection.
