GREEN CARNIVAL GLASS
This very pretty green carnival glass dish has fluted edges. It measures 3.25 inches tall x 5.25 inches across. there is a number on the bottom marked 2792.Carnival Glass is pressed glass which has an iridized surface treatment. It is made by exposing the newly formed hot pressed glass to sprays, fumes and vapours from heated metallic oxides. These form a lustrous coating at the surface of the glass. It looks as if it has rainbows on it, like the coloured patterns sometimes seen when petrol floats on water.

Fenton Carnival Glass Grape& Cable with Thumbprint Rare
Carnival Glass A limited edition grape and cable pattern gold carnival glass bowl made by Fenton for QVC in 1999. This collared base bowl is 10.5" in diameter and 4" high with a flared ruffle edge and a frieze of thumbprint like indentations around the bowl. A gorgeous marigold carnival glass piece in itself. It is truly a rare piece as it is a limited edition, and I have not been able to find much mention of this piece in the published literature. However: It is not marked, or at least the imprinted mark is not visible. There is a gray foil 95th anniversary sticker still adhering.I have found this piece in the "Fenton Glass for QVC" catalog. J. Measall 2002. and I have the original invoice for the bowl. A great collector's item.
