Yellowware:
Old Yellowware Rockingham Pottery Pig Bank

Old Yellowware Pottery Pig Bank decorated with sponged Rockingham glaze. Lisa McAllister shows this style pig bank in her book of Yellow Ware (bv 175-275). They are also pictured in reference guides of Brush-McCoy and Roseville Pottery, etc., so several eastern Ohio potteries made them. This little guy is marked USA. He measures 5 1/2'' long and 2 7/8'' tall. There is some age related crazing present. One of the craze lines is a little darker on the top running from the slot--but it is crazing as there is no break in the glaze. There is old glue residue from felt on the bottoms of the feet and a dark spot on one foot also from the glue. We have not tried to clean it, but it should come off. This little yellowware pig no chips or cracks.

Yellowware:
National Pottery Yellowware Baking Dish Pie Pan

Yellowware Baking Dish Pie Pan with Rockingham glazed interior marked National and with Indian in headdress logo impressed into the bottom. According to Lisa McAllister's book on Yellow Ware, Book III, page 111, National Pottery operated in Roseville, OH circa 1920-1940. A smaller bowl with imprinted logo is shown (bv 100-150). This baking dish measures 10'' in diameter and 1 3/4'' tall. The interior glaze has a few glaze bubbles from manufacturing. The glaze is shiny with no noted scratching. The unglazed yellowware exterior has a small chip on the outer rim--on the underside. It's hardly noticeable as the color is the same throughout. The bottom has raised, circular feet. It's nice to find a signed piece of yellowware as most were not marked.
