This unique plate was the first issue in "The Treasures of the Dore Bible" series produced by Rhodes Studios. Made in a "fused bronze" process, it has remarkable detail and beauty. Featuring a recreation in bas relief of Gustave Dore's etched Bible illustrations, it is hand-finished and individually numbered. In the photo it looks a golden color because I lightened the picture to show all the details, but it's actually quite a bit darker in real life. In mint condition, it measures 8 1/2" across and also includes the original box, certificate of authenticity and 6-page brochure about the artist and the series. Bradex No: 84-R30-1.1 |
