Commemorating the inauguration of George Washington as the first president of the United States in 1789, 150 years earlier, this plate depicts George Washington standing on a balcony overlooking the New York World's Fair and the Trylon and Perisphere. The surrounding pictures depict other Fair buildings. Done in classic blue and white; diameter: 11 inches. Marked ''Lamberton Scammell China U.S.A.'' and an outline of the Trylon and Perisphere and ''Official Souvenir New York World's Fair 1939''. Excellent condition.
