For sale is a vintage Elgin pocket watch - signed Henry Ford 11. Very collectible pocket watch indeed! It is either gold or gold tone, it is not marked on the outside with a gold mark, but it could be on the inside. You'd think it would be gold since it is a 35th anniversary watch. What is so great about this watch is the engraving on the backside. It reads: 'Presented by Ford Motor Co. to Hubert M. Atto on His 35th Anniversary 1915-1950', and in script: 'Henry Ford II'. As you know, Henry has been deceased for quite a while now. Henry's famous line was 'never complain, never explain'. Front reads: Elgin De Luxe. This watch is in good condition, it was ticking when purchased; haven't checked on it in awhile though. Sorry the pics did not come out too well, I did try! |
