9.5x10.5x8" Large & solid, hand sculpted working goat. Looks mre like a hybrid from a goat & ram. Blanket is applied by a series of rolled clay "snakes" blended together. (Note the varying lengths at the foot.) Saddlebags also sculpted & applied.
Signed ITALY, ICS, which translates into "SOCIETÁ ITALIANA DI CERAMICA" Also note the ICS Cypher underneath. Gambone worked here before moving to Firenze. Note the resemblance to his whimsey & signature glazes. |
