26x32",inner 18.5x24.5". Classicly painted oil on canvas of the famous Spanish King Fernando. Husband of Queen Isabella, patron of Christopher Columbus. Signed in bottom right, "18", (1818). Experted to date the late 18th, early 19th century. Titled "Rei, Do Fernando, Catolico". The previous owner showed us paperwork supporting his claim that this and the mate Isabella were on exhibit at the Library of Congress. Owned by the last surviving member of an old Blue-Blooded Philadelphia family. A small loan was made against this painting, the owner died and unfortunately Fernando may never see Isabella again. If anybody knows where Isabella is, please contact us or inform the current owner that we have Fernando. Price reflects the loan, truly a priceless museum piece. Amazing original condition, 50's vintage frame.
