Manufacturer: H. Chapin H. Chapin #19 folding rule made of boxwood and brass. It is hinged to fold from 6 inches to 24 inches. It is completely encased in brass and is still very square. The numbers on the outside show some wear from use, but it is still in very good and usable condition. It is marked No.19 H. Chapin U. S. Standard.

This company made rules, planes, and other woodworking tools in the mid 1800's up until 1901 when it was merged with Stephens & Co. to form Chapin Stephens & Company. So, this one is definitely over 100 years old. A great little rule for you to add to your measuring tool collection!
