Manufacturer: Unknown Pictured here are Cyclists posed at the Aurora Ontario Canada Public School, circa 1895. On the far right hand side is an English Springer Spaniel dog.
Bicycling became one of Canada's favourite pastimes in the 1890s, particularly among young people who now could use their bicycles to travel far away from the watchful gaze of their elders. Some proclaimed the bicycling craze to be immoral, although this group of young people posed outside the Aurora Public School seem to be most proper.
This came from part of an estate from a gentleman who collected Aurora and Newmarket Ontario Canada paper, ephemera, collectibles etc. and included scrapbooks, framed pictures, clippings from books and much more.
This piece was identified as coming from a circa 1980's book and measures 10 x 8 inches.
