| This is either a 1940 or 1965 World Fair Souvenir Plate. It is in MINT condition and still has the Gold Foil Label on the back, although label is very hard to read from age, feel that it was probably manufactured in Japan. It displays The United Nations, Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, Times Square, and International Airport. Take a close look at the International Airport and the other buildings. The graphics appear to be from 1940. As one shopper pointed out however, the UN Building was not built in 1940. So to be safe, we will let you decide. The inside rim of the plate is decorated with a Flow Blue design pattern but it is more black than blue in color. There are also Pine Cones and Evergreen Sprigs around the perimeter. Great Collectors Piece. |
