Beautiful Art Deco Octagon Shaped Mayonnaise set that has a wonderful blue treatment on the underside of the bowl and plate. Then on the inside of the bowl and the top of the plate is gold gilt with a wonderful a raised enameled Art Deco design. The Compote is approximately 4.00 inches tall and 6.00 inches in diameter with the base approximately 3.25 inches in diameter. The under plate is approximately 7.25 inches in diameter and has a ground Marie (bottom). There are no nicks, chips, or cracks to either piece and there is only slight wear to the gold gilt with the blue treatment and raised enamel show little to no wear. While we were not able to pin down an exact designer this shape bowl and under plate is shown in the Wheeling Decorating company book. |
