Offered is a rather unique and early Law Enforcement Restraining Device called the Iron Claw. I believe this Device is from around the 1930's. I've had this piece in my collection for several years. Piece came from the old Penitentiary in Moundsville, W.Va. and I was told it belonged to one of the few guards in charge of the Electric Chair--what was referred to as "Old Sparky".

Anyhow, the Device measures about 5 1/2" in length. The one side has the name "The Iron Claw" with the number 58968 and the opposite side says Argus Mfg. Co. Chicago, Ill. U.S.A. Pat. 1950757 Other Pat. Pend. Patina has some wear but appears to operate fine. A very unique item that would make a great addition to any Law Enforcement collection. Buyer to pay shipping & insurance.
