These figures were collected in 2002 from Tanzania
These figures with movable arms and legs were made by Aaramo and Kwere people. They were used as funerary figures when single and as marriage gifts in pairs. For funerals, they were manipulated by a person who played the role of the eldest son or nephew and sang the praises of the dead person.
