Manufacturer: u;nknown This is a wonderful vintage television lamp from the mid century. These lamps were used on top of the television sets while watching TV in an otherwise darkened room. I remember my mother admonishing me to make sure the TV light was on so I didn’t hurt my eyes while watching TV.
This lamps maker is unknown. The base and the torch like shade are made of aluminum.

The shade does not move it is fixed in place. It is attached to the base by a copper colored pedestal divider. The bottom is very heavily weighted. It feels like it might even be cast iron. The lamp is very heavy; it weighs 3 pounds 2.1 ounces. Green felt covers the bottom of the lamp to protect it from scratching anything.
It has a push button attached to the top of the base to turn the lamp on and off. It has a generous 7’ 6" cord. Considering the age, I would replace the cord for safety’s sake. It has the old porcelain or ceramic socket. This light does work. Inside the torch lamp is a sticker. It is white with blue writing. It says Union Made, Affiliated with American Federation of Labor, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and has the numbers 827964 55.
The lamp stands 9" from top to bottom. The top or mouth is 5 5’8" across, it is about 17" in diameter. This tapers down to about 7 ˝" in diameter at the base. The round base is 6" across.
This lamp is still bright and shiny. I do see some scratches in the soft aluminum and a few pit marks. That is to be expected in a product that is over 50 years old.
This is still a very useable lamp and would make a great conversation piece or a great addition to a retro décor.
