Circa: 1880-1900 Condition: Excellent Size: 7.5" tall and 5.5" wide
This is a lovely detailed valentine from 1880-1900. It has a curley haired cupid surrounded by pansies. The next layer is an intricute die cut lace pattern. The last years is some scrape die-cuts of hearts, cupids and flowers. All of these layers have been placed on a die-cut silver and red background.
Inside the card is a beautifully detailed print. The poem centered in the middle - Best Wishes.

May health of glow be bringing its golden sunshine stiff, and love's sweet music ringing your heart with joy to fill; around the path and dwelling may summer beauty shine, may all delights be swelling and garlands fair entwine.
On the back it is signed "To Nina From Flipper" Thee are no tears on this valentine. It is in excellent conditon with the light foxing expected on a valentine of this age. |
