This appears to be from the 1920s or 30s and is a fun piece that is hard to describe. I actually bought this bird hangie thingie (can you think of a better name for it?) out of a collection that was a warehouse find about 15 years ago. I have several, all identical, each measuring about 3 1/4" long not including an additional 4" for the string and suction cup.
The bird appears to be some sort of tropical species like a Cockatiel or some sort of Parrot. It is very lightweight and hollow, typical of celluloid, and it has blue and pink feathers and a pink beak. The string is covered by long celluloid or plastic cylinders and a cup is at the end.
This whimsical feathered friend is in excellent condition and free of any dings, dents, cracks, or other damage or repair. The rubber suction cup is old, so I don't know if it would actually work, but the nicely detailed piece would be a great addition to any bird or celluloid collection!
