Circa: early 1900's-1920's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: Champion Tool Company Evansbury PA
This is a good used, antique blacksmith ferrier's tongs, with the rounded jaws, and spherical indentations inside the inner jaws. The outer jaws are about 1.5" diameter, and the tongs are 14" long overall. The handle is marked "CHAMPION". These tongs are in good useable condition, no rust no damage, some minor wear and dings, all of the black paint worn off, a good pivot joint and pin. These tongs were made by the same company that later changed their company name, moved to Meadville PA and manufactured the well known Channellock pliers there. These are nice as they weight nearly a pound less than many of the other brands in the same length, yet they are study, and durable! |
