5" of needle lace edging, a 2" cotton panel then another 2" of insert needle lace. Along the top cotton panel you will find hand stitched button holes every 9.5"; the button holes measure 3/4". Along the sides the buttonholes are 12" apart. At each bottom corner there are three buttonholes close together and across the bottom they are 15" apart. These sheets are beautifully elegant and made to last. In Germany these types of blanket cover sheets were buttoned onto heavy duvets to protect them and avoid having to wash them often, as it was a very arduous job. Today, most designers and homeowners use them as regular sheets or fashion wonderful curtains with them. This superior and identical pair, have seen little to no use and are offered crisp and in excellent condition. They have been freshly laundered and pressed. Price is for one - 2 available. c.1930
