Vintage WWI era silk window star banner indicating that the household has 1 person in the service during wartime. No fading, star was handsewn on, hanging silk tore at the one end, there are areas of wear and age tears which is normal with silk. See photos. Has metal end rods. 14 in. across, 16 1/2 in. high. May have been a homemade piece, which was common then. It should be professionally framed to preserve its beauty and structure as the silk is very delicate and easily pulls apart, a good sign of age.
