This is an inspiring and compelling, large, antique sepia print depicting St. Anne teaching the Young Virgin Mary to read the Bible. It is quite rare to see pictures of Mary as a child.

There are wonderful and very fine details throughout this print, including two beautiful oriental rugs, one on the floor and the other hanging on the wall as a lovely backdrop. Saint Anne and Mary’s face are captivating, comforting, and full of expression. In small letters above the print reads, "H.I.6.". In the lower left of the print it reads, "G. KAU PINX". In the lower right there is a stamp or emblem with the letter ‘M’ within. Also, at the bottom of the print it is titled, "St. Anne" in five different languages. Within the picture, there is a date reading, " c. 1902". It blends in with the picture but can be found on the far right part of the bench next to where Mary is sitting. The print is in excellent original condition. The original antique oak frame is also in excellent original condition. Original glass, paper backing, and wire hanger. Circa 1902.
*** There is much information that can be found on the Internet about Saint Anne, but below I’ve included a few interesting words about Saint Anne, as well as a Daily Prayer:
*Saint Anne is a Patron Saint of Married Women: According to legend, Saint Anne was married three times, first to Saint Joachim, after his death to Cleophas, and finally to Salomas. Her ability to find husbands inspired women to turn to her for help in finding a husband. "I beg of You, Holy Mother Anne, send me a good and loving man."
*Saint Anne Provides Aid in Granting Children: According to legend, both Saint Anne and Saint Joachim prayed to God for a child. God blessed them with Mary, mother to Jesus and venerated as "Our Mother," therefore making Saint Anne "Grandmother" to followers for centuries.
*Daily Prayer to Saint Anne:
O glorious Saint Anne, you are filled with compassion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer! Heavily burdened with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to take the present intention which I recommend to you in your special care. Please recommend it to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and place it before the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy issue. Continue to intercede for me until my request is granted. But, above all, obtain for me the grace one day to see my God face to face, and with you and Mary and all the saints to praise and bless Him for all eternity.
