It is unmarked but we believe it was most likely manufactured by one of the Ohio Pottery Companies sometime between 1930-1940. It is very usable and very clean, no chips or cracks. There are a few blue specks under glaze on the top rim that have been there since manufacture, but they are very light and do not detract from the piece. Mentioned only for accuracy sake. We also believe that the Teapot was probably manufactured as a tribute to the Old West Cowgirl Calamity Jane. We have placed a photo of Calamity Jane next to the Teapot so you can see the likeness. The Red Transferware Cameo on the Teapot is on both sides and if you look closely at the face we think you will agree with us that it is a Feminine and not Masculine figure. It would seem logical to put Calamity Jane on a Teapot. Purchase it for the list price and we will thow in the photo! Great conversation piece for your next Western Tea Party and Great Collectors Piece! |
