Manufacturer: Mueller Tile
Made by Mueller Mosaic Tile Company, of Trenton, NJ, ca 1920. This tile is 5 7/8" square and ¾" thick. It has a red clay base, and is part of Mueller’s polychrome faience line of tiles. A heavily incised design with semi matte glazes of cobalt blue/yellow/white with a matte green glaze inside. This was previously set and still bears very minor traces of mortar and small chips to glaze. Set into a wood frame - measures 10" square by 2" deep. A nice example of Herman Carl Mueller’s work.
