| Air gets trapped in the tail of the fish when it is filled with water and as the jug is tipped the air escapes from the tail through the liquid creating a distinctive "gurgle" sound. There were nine different versions of this mug produced in different sizes and colors. This piece is approximately 7.25 inches tall and has a wonderful green coloring. There is a pin point nick on the top lip seam and a glaze skip on the inside lip also has a fine small crazing to this piece. The bottom is marked Dartmouth Devon England. Besides this being a drinking vessel, it would make a great vase or just that unusual gift for someone who has everything. |
