| Wonderful scalloped edge Pink souvenir Plate of the Civil War Memorial Hall Foxboro Mass circa early 1900s. It is approximately 7.00 inches in diameter and has no nicks, chips, cracks or crazing; there is wear to the gold gilt edge, slight wear to the pink and transfer of Memorial Hall. On the back there is a back stamp that reads Made in Germany, The Union Straw Factory Foxboro MA. Memorial Hall is a Civil War Memorial along with a museum that contains the Civil war ties but the town history as well. The Union Straw Works was at one time the largest straw making hat factory until the largest of three buildings burnt to the ground. The latest reference we could find to the Union Straw Factory was from 1924. |
