Circa: Vintage Condition: Excellent Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Paul Herzel Submitted for your consideration a Bronze clad signed Indian Chief on Horseback Ashtray by noted artist(sculptor and artist) Paul Herzel (1876-1956). Born in Silesia,Germany Herzel immigrated to America at an early age and spent much of his life in New York City living in Brooklyn.. He studied art at the Saint Louis School of Fine Arts and exhibited at many major shows. He won the Barnett Prize from the National Academy of design in 1915, as well as another major award at the Salons of American exhibit in 1929. Exhibited: PAFA, 1915-16, 1929-31; NAD, 1915 (prize); S. Indp.
