This is a handsome and captivating antique religious print. I believe it is titled, "The Good Shepherd", since there are many similar interpretations of this scene with that title. The young Child Jesus is portrayed as a shepherd kneeling down and embracing a sweet little baby lamb.

The expressions of both Jesus and the lamb are angelic and full of tender emotion. The fine facial details are also exquisite and very realistic. This inspiring print has a unique, light texture design to its background throughout. The colors of this print are bright and beautiful. A large halo of light softly illuminates around Jesus’ face. This print retains its original, gold-painted molded decorative wood frame. Original paper backing. New glass and wire hanger. Both the print and frame are in excellent original condition. Circa 1920’s.
*** I've included a short article about THE HISTORY of JESUS AND HIS SHEEP:
"Throughout the Old Testament, there are many motifs and symbols for Christ. There is none more important than the shepherd and his sheep. The shepherd of the Old Testament is found to be both a leader and a companion to his sheep.
As a shepherd: He knows his flock and is gentle with them (Prov. 27:23); carries the in his arms (Isa. 40:11) --rescues them from danger (Amos 3:12); seeks after the lost sheep (Ezek. 34:12). He is the one who opens the gate to allow the sheep to go in and out; the wolves would have to get by his guarding the flock.
We find the same qualities of the Old Testament shepherd in Jesus who is our chief shepherd."
