Since making her first doll in 1989, artist Nancy Wiley has earned recognition and accolades both within and outside of the doll community for her stylized and imaginative figures. Inspired by fairy tales and ballets, classic paintings and fashions, deep philosophy and lighthearted whimsy, her creations surprise, delight and intrigue viewers. They have been featured in exhibitions nationwide and in magazines such as Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, In Style and George, as well as all the major doll-collecting publications. This book showcases 100 of Ms. Wiley's dolls in full-color photos, organized by theme and accompanied by insightful commentaries from the artist, including several never-before-seen pieces created for debut at the artist's one-woman show held at the Muscatine Art Center in Iowa in 2004.
