Manufacturer: Joe Patrick - North and Judd
A vintage Joe Patrick Handmade Lunging Caveson - possibly for a draft horse but definitely for training and lunging.

This piece made by Joe Patrick is entirely handforged with brass and leather (leather curb and throat - latch) except for two buckles. Really cool handmade 2" rosettes on the headstall. Extra heavy reinforced brass plating on the entire nose band that wraps around entire nose. Also includes heavy nose lunging ring on the front center of the nose band.

Marking on the leather band in direct center says "Joe Patrick Maker" - it's a very pronounced marking (easy to see in the picture). There's also an anchor mark (my guess is North and Judd) on the handmade chin-strap buckle.

Found in Northern Colorado in an antique tack shop. The owner said that Joe Patrick was a well known craftsman in Colorado.

Don't know for sure, but because of such reinforced brass on entire caveson - possibly could've been used for breaking/training wild horses or mustang.

Thank you so much for looking. Giddyup.
