This is a very nice, clean external thread chaser die with 6 sizes in one hinged die, all National Fine size, 5/8-18, 3/4-16, 7/8-14, 1-14, 1-1/8-12, 1-1/4-12, the last 2 numbers in each size given is the threads per inch. It is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. WIDE K.C. MO. U.S.A.", and also states the sizes for each. There is an alignment pin located at the other end from the hinge to keep the threads aligned, and a thumb bolt clamp to keep the split die closed while in use. A thread chaser is designed to clean and refurbish threads, not to cut new ones. It can remove small dings or dents in the thread, and is split so you can pick up on the better threads and turn the bolt or the die on threw that damaged threads to clean them up. Often a better solution than buying new bolts or machine screws while repairing older machines or structures. This tool is quite nice, no damage, no rust, good threads on all 6 sizes. Rare! |
