Beautiful antique, solid brass mechanical doorbell that measures 4 inches in diameter and has a patent date stamped onto the back plate of 1874. This doorbell operates by means of the Eastlake lever, which fits through the door and into a slot on the back of the bell. The bell mechanism is spring loaded and so there is always tension on the lever handle. All a guest need do is press in on the Eastlake lever and the bell will ring. The lever automatically resets itself and can be pushed as many times as the visitor prefers. This is a complete, antique mechanical doorbell system with a crisp, clear ring and best of all it is guaranteed to work.
