Bowl Silver Plate Elkington Antique 1840’s Pierced Wk!; I recently thought I knew so much about Silver Plate and recently found out that there is only one valued name of silver plate and that is Elkington Silver Company. Known to only to have made silver plate the superiority of their silver plate is untouched by others silver plate manufacturers.
Please review the pictures closely and notice the detail of their work, the four legs so elegantly designed in the traditional cabriole leg and the ball and claw feet; the beaded on the edges duplicated on the on the legs, the open beautiful pierce work!!! This vintage piece of Elkington Silver Plate will as treasured as any sterling silver hollowware you might have in your collection.
Purchase from a fellow antique silver dealer this piece is found in excellent condition and measures as follows; 9 1/8 inches in diameter, stands 3 1/8 inches high, the base of the feet measures 6 7/8 inches. This heavy well made of Elkington Silver Plate Bowl weights 565 grams or 19.9 ounces.
Found marked as shown in the pictures below "Elkington", and their trademark.
