Condition: Used Size: 17.75 inches Manufacturer: Eagle Brand Vintage canvas water bag with red wooden slide closure, cork stopper, and rope handle. circa 1950s. The bag was usually hung over the radiator cap or vehicle emblem. As the vehicle traveled down the road, evaporation was the cooling agent. The water seeped through the pores of the canvas keeping the bag damp. The more evaporation on the outside of the bag, the cooler the water was on the inside. Perfect for a cool, fresh drink. Also offered extra radiator water for trips through the desert. Water bags were also popular with loggers, miners, and farmers. This vintage water bag measures about 11.25 inches by 17.75 inches. Marked in red and blue lettering: Eagle Brand, TM Reg, Pat App For, Controlled exudation & evaporation, H. Wenzel Tent & Duck Co., St. Louis, Minute Man Type. Eagle and Minute Man logos. Also included is a printed copy of the original directions.
