Circa: 1950 Manufacturer: Libbey Glass Company/Made in USA This great deco set of 2 cocktail glasses were made by the Libbey Glass Company. The Libbey Glass Company was one of the largest glass manufacturers in the United States of America during the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In 1888, Edward Libbey moved his glass-manufacturing establishment from Massachusetts to Toledo, Ohio. They produced bottles, containers and window glass. The Libbey Glass Company became even more profitable after Michael Owens, an inventor from Newark, Ohio, joined the firm. Owens developed a machine that could automatically produce bottles, tumblers, and glass chimneys. The company remains in operation in the twenty-first century. In 2004, it was the United States' largest manufacturer of glass dinnerware, with plants in Louisiana, California, and Ohio, as well as in the Netherlands. From the 1950s they are in very good + condition with all the colors of black and red bright and in tact. The cocktail glasses have a bar scene with 2 men toasting in black/white and red and measure 5 5/8 inches, 2 7/8 inches across the rim and 2 3/4 inches across the base. A nice addition to any Libbey Cocktail Glass Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.
