Circa: 1952 Manufacturer: Miller Brewing Company/Made in USA This wonderful set of 2 different beer tip trays advertising Miller High Life Beer, The Champagne of Bottled Beer are marked differently. The black tray with white and yellow letting and gold trim is marked: Miller High Life / The Champagne of Bottled Beer / 1952 Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wis. / F.30 / Litho in USA / Thomas A.Schutz Co. Chicago while the red and gold tip tray is marked: Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wisc. / No.400-301 / Made in USA. In 1854, with Germany in the throes of political unrest and growing restrictions, the Millers (Frederick Edward John Miller and wife Josephine) and their infant son emigrated to the United States. After spending a year based in New York City and inspecting various parts of the country by river and lake steamer, Miller traveled up the Mississippi to Prairie du Chien and traveled overland to Milwaukee. Shortly after he arrived in Milwaukee, Frederick Miller paid $8,000 for the Plank-Road Brewery, now the Milwaukee Brewery. Philip Morris Inc. purchased the company in 1969 and the rest of the family's stock in 1970. From the 1950's, in very good condition, there are some paint scratches, which I have shown in my pictures and they measures 4 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches. A nice addition to any Advertising or Breweriana Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and thank you for looking.
