It has the smaller size base, only 2.5" long, and is graduated from 0-1.000" in .001" increments. The micrometer and all the rods, and wrench are in great shape, no rust, no damage, no sign of wear, no owner's names, and turns very smoothly. (The calibration wrench is not in the pictures, but is included). A really well cared for tool! This has the ratchet type end thimble, works great! It comes in a nice sliding top type hardwood box. The box is hardwood, in great shape, some minor wear, a good partial end label on the box, and is the original box for this micrometer, the label is worn but legible. As you can see in the pictures the box top is clearly marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A.". A very nice precision tool for the 1930's era!
