Circa: 1907-1910's Condition: Good Manufacturer: Dietz N.Y. This is a good antique driving light, complete with a good burner unit and tank. It appears to be complete with one extra T-handle mounting screw on one side. The body is 11.5" tall and has a 5" diameter glass lens. The glass is solid, and in good shape with one flat spot on the right side next the spring lever that keeps that hinged lens door closed, and also near the area that has two rips in the flared rim that goes around the outside of the lens door. The lens and the door integrity are just fine, the lens fits in there tight, and the door opens and closes perfectly. The inside reflection insert is very clean, as is the burner unit. There is a few small dents noted on the exterior, you can see them in the pictures, none are big or would cause a problem with use. We do not some exterior paint loss, about 50% is still intact. The tail light lens on the back is fine also. There are several patent dates on the back of this lantern, the latest is "JAN-22-07". Also marked "DIETZ UNION DRIVING LAMP NEW YORK U.S.A.". A good clean lantern overall!
