When polished, shows forms resembling ruins, due to disseminated iron oxide. From Tuscany region, Italy. Collected for centuries, they were displayed as natural objects in European Renaissance wonder cabinets.
This lovely specimen measures 5¼ at its widest point and about 2-1/8 tall. The slab is about 1/8 inch thick. It comes complete with display easel.
