Vintage ruby cut to clear biscuit jar. Heavy, old glass. Unfortunately the pics show it as a dark, almost purple; it is deep dark red with brilliant cut away, see pic #3, 7-8 for better color. No maker's marks on it. Lid has polish lines on it, (former owner must have gone a bit crazy), nothing felt to the touch, but you can see the lines up close. From 6 inches away, it is not noticeable.

| The jar is 8.2 5 tall up to finial. Very minor wear on this jar; a couple of fine scratches on bottom. The lid looks like silver plate. It is a magnificent jar; sorry the pics do not really capture its true beauty. 10/09roant#2699 |
