This pewter lidded mini stein is marked: Peltro 95% / Italy / Pewter.
Pewter was first used around the beginning of the Bronze Age in the Near East. The earliest piece of pewter found is from an Egyptian tomb from 1450 BC. Pewter was the chief tableware until the making of porcelain.
The cover has a picture of a maiden filling beer steins from a large keg.
In very good condition there is a manufacturers flaw in the bottom rim which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 5 3/4 inches tall and 3 inches wide.
