Circa: early 1920's-40's Condition: Good+ Manufacturer: not marked
This is a nice clean used collapsible canvas antique bucket/pail with the rarely seen metal swing handle with the wooden handle. We believe it to be pre-WWII era. The design is very well engineered and manufactured, with very good strong frame work including the swivel pins, frame arms, even the handle and handle bail wire, all very sturdy! The canvas is brown with some wear, but about 95% intact, with a few small wear holes around the top rim area mostly, one or two small wear holes on the bottom frame area, both the top and bottom holes are around the frame part. We see about 3 tiny puncture holes in the canvas near the top of the bucket, that would slowly leak if the bucket was filled to the top. If someone was to want to use this bucket, it would need to be treated anew to make is more waterproof. It will hold water now, but water slow seeps out over a few hour period. The canvas is fairly clean, strong, and is still flexible, not brittle or fragile. The bucket measures 10" tall (14.75" tall including the handle bail in the up position) and is 11.5" in diameter. In the collapsed shape, it stands about 1.5" tall. A very well made collapsible bucket overall! |
