This is an old brass door plate which most likely originated in an old hotel. The plate reads, PLEASE BOLT DOOR UPON RETIRING.
This measures about 1-5/8 x 3 inches. There is no maker mark. There is no information as to what hotel this may have come from, but it was found in the area between Rockford, Illinois and the Elkhorn, Wisconsin area.
