Circa: 1950 Condition: Excellent Country of Origin: United States Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap Author: Carolyn Keene Pages: 213
TRUE FIRST EDITION Nancy Drew "The Secret of the Wooden Lady" by Carolyn Keene, published in 1950 by Grosset & Dunlap, per Farah's Guide (the definitive guide to collecting Nancy Drew books). The book is a hard cover with 213 pages. The book is in excellent condition, with no marks except for a bookplate on the first title page with the original owner's name. The book shows little wear, with the pages straight and crisp and the binding tight. The inside front and back cover are black and white sillouettes of Nancy Drew and friends. The Dust Jacket is in very good condition with only a few chips/tears on the top and bottom (see pictures). There is some rub marks on the front cover of the dust jacket from being stacked or slid in and out of a bookcase. The inside front flap of the dust cover lists the available Nancy Drew Mystery Stories and reflect that this is 27th in the series, being the last on the list. The back flap lists 6 Connie Blair Mystery Stories by Betsy Allen, and the back cover lists 20 Beverly Grey Mystery Stories by Clair Blank. The frontspiece illustration in the book shows Nancy's boyfriend, Ned, with a cigarette in his hand (this was removed in later printings). |
