A child visiting Yellowstone park in the 1940s would have seen lots of other tourist kids and probably a few adults wearing a souvenir cap like this one. Made of dark green and blue wool felt, Yellowstone Park is silk screened in stylized pine log letters on one side. The opposite side has images of the Great Falls waterfall of Yellowstone Canyon and a bear with the words Old Bruin and Great Falls. The illustration is tinted in shades of pink, mauve, and light green. The hat is nearly 11 inches long by 3-1/2" high and in mint or near mint condition with no fading, tears, holes, odors or stains - it looks like it was never used.
