Off. – F-C Size: 4-1/2 inches height, 5-3/8 inches across rim, 3-inch base Condition: no chips or cracks; straw marks and manufacturing marks - the glass has use scratches Comments: Has two tab handles - a seldom found vintage Pyrex item - Electric Snack Servers from Chase Brass & Copper Co. introduced in 1934 were equipped with three 1 Qt Pyrex containers numbered 599. They are comparable to 504 bean pots, but with different handles; the 599 is taller and narrower, and came with a chrome lid which was part of the server set. Buffet servers became popular as a result of the Depression. The servers were half filled with water heated electrically to keep the food warm using the hot water; patented by an agent for Chase Co. (Electricity was just becoming common at that time for cities and later for the more rural areas.) Dunbar Glass later produced the same pots for Chase using the "Ovenglas" brand name.
